ASKING THE WRONG QUESTIONS ABOUT GUN CRIME.

Today it was reported that there was a gun crime incident at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.  10 people lost there lives due to an insane person with a death wish,Screen Shot 2015-10-01 at 9.48.24 PM
wanting to go out in a blaze of glory. I don’t know why he did it, but I do know that he was obviously not right in the head.  As every major news outlet picked up this article about the school shooting, headlines fade about the Russian bombing of Syria.  The Russians stepping in and sending military to Syria to “help” combat ISIS, essentially pulling the “lone superpower” reigns from the US is a major headline.  That will however, have to take a backseat to another 2nd Amendment negative propaganda piece.

I was looking at this latest school murder thinking that it does seem to be happening a lot lately…Why is that?

Then I thought, “Gee, I wonder what the frequency of school shootings has been”?  I then did a little search on “school shootings” and came up with this link from Wikipedia which outlines every known reported incident with a gun at any school from K through college.  This list has it all, from…”a guys gun accidentally goes off in class”, to the Kent State Massacre in 1970.  I put the data in a chart and voila, see below.

Isn’t the chart interesting?  Seems there has been a major spike in school shootings starting around the early 1990’s, and again in 2008.  Why is that I wonder? In 1990, then President Bush, signed into law the Gun-Free School Zones Act.  Then in 1994, then president, Mr. Clinton signed into law The Gun-Free Schools Act.  Since those two acts were signed, gun crime in schools have gone up.  Seems the question shouldn’t be about curbing the second amendment and increasing militarism in schools.  Maybe we should start looking at repealing some of these laws that have proven ineffectiveness.  The only “common sense” gun law is the one that strengthens our 2nd Ammendment.  Should another question be, why has there been more school shootings under President Obama then there have been from the end of WW2 until he took office?  Why has the frequency skyrocketed under his administration?  How has the culture changed?  He may have you believe that there needs to be more laws.  However, history proves that less gun laws mean less crime. serveimage-3 If you are a psychopathic criminal and have an urge to pretend you are Rambo before you commit suicide, you are most likely also a coward.  If you are a coward, you will most likely pick a place that will put up the least resistance possible.  If there is a thought that the guy next to you is also packing, that may be enough to deter one from committing a heinous act.

The president makes a comment how this has become routine and that “We (as Americans) have become numb to this,” he complained.    serveimageNo,  Mr. President, I think this is routine for you, and maybe you have become numb to this.  We as a society , I believe, are being told that the government will do all for us.  Have a problem, the government can help… right?  Where was the help for these kids?  Why does the “help” come in the form of body bags?  Why are we not being taught to help ourselves?  Help BEFORE death is ultimately the preferred option, I believe.  There is some debate on who coined the quote, “A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take everything that you have.” but it resonates within me regardless of the author.  The more freedom you give up, the less free you are.

Think for yourselves, always question the official narrative.
